The Property Marketing Awards (PMA) is a not-for-profit event, organised annually by the Chartered Surveyors’ Company, a City of London livery company.
Winning a PMA has a far-reaching impact and brings valuable exposure for agencies , consultancies, property companies and in-house marketing teams.
The independent PMA judging panel includes marketing professionals at the top of their respective fields and is chaired by Misa Von Tunzelman, Head of Corporate Affairs and Marketing for LendLease in Europe.
One of the principal objectives of the Company is to promote and support the education of young people, particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds. This support takes many forms, from volunteering and mentoring, to charitable donations, and bursaries .
The proceeds raised by the PMA are distributed by the Company’s Charitable Trust , to support a range of education and training projects. These projects provide life changing opportunities which would otherwise not exist, and which enhance diversity in the real estate industry.
The Company has recently launched a very successful bursary programme which provides financial assistance for 3 years to students attending various universities to obtain degrees in real estate/planning and land economy. The programme is supplemented by work experience for the students , each of whom has a mentor, who provides advice throughout their courses, and Champions, who are able to assist with career choices. The Company intends to expand this programme still further as it approaches the 50th anniversary of it being granted its Royal Charter.
Currently, the Company through the Charitable Trust is providing financial support to some 30 students at 15 different colleges and universities. The Company has also fostered relationships with a number of schools, including 4 in inner London boroughs.
Sponsorship monies and entry fees will help the PMA to make a meaningful donation to the Trust to continue with this work. In 2021, the PMA’s nominated beneficiary was Building People, which supports young people from under-represented groups to find jobs in the built environment sector. In previous years, other beneficiaries nominated by the PMA include The Children’s Trust which supports the education of children with brain injuries, and also LandAid, which seeks to end youth homelessness.
We are hugely grateful to all our sponsors and entrants for their support. http://www.surveyorslivery.org.uk/
